Why I Am Inspired to Write this God Book Now

Finally, the “God Book” journey begins in earnest! A new book idea inspired by God years ago is now being written. It’s challenging when you are blessed with an idea from God and can’t wait to share it! I’m so excited that God has inspired me to try to put into words the magnitude of who He is. I remember the giddiness I experienced when God inspired me to write this”love story.”

Why I am Inspired tp Write this God Book Now!

Why the God Book?

That, my friend, is a question the enemy continues to ask me in his attempts to give me doubts and discourage me from thinking that I am “worthy” and “capable enough” to write a book about God and His magnificent attributes. Thankfully, God places reminders around me and inspires me to stick with it despite many delays and distractions.

So, why am I writing this book now? As I mentioned in the dedication, I promised my late father as he lay there on his deathbed, a shell of himself and unable to speak. “Dad, I promise I will tell as many people as possible about Jesus.”  After that promise, I encouraged him to let go and said God was ready for him now. He smiled a huge grin and began to flail away with excitement. My sister encouraged me to “keep talking!” because of his response. But there were no more words to say.

That promise to my dad uplifted me when I was unsure about this ministry’s next steps. Also, when I flip through the pages of my tattered journal, I remember the excitement I felt when I looked through the notes and research pages. I even started a text chain to myself when I could not locate a pen right away, and I didn’t want to lose a thought or a Bible verse that aligned with the theme of this book.

In times like these, a beautiful book about God's magnificent attributes is needed. That is why I am writing this book in obedience to Him. Share on X

A God Book to Inspire

When I began researching this book and formatting the outline, I was reminded of yet another magnificent attribute of God. And another. and yet another. I then committed to not writing a “dictionary” about God but a “love letter.” A personal love letter that you can read and relate to, read and be encouraged by, or maybe read and share with someone else to inspire them about why we love Him.

The subtitle mentions that these magnificent attributes of God will “change your life forever.” And if your heart belongs to Jesus, I believe you know what I mean. God’s greatness is the first attribute I discuss because I want the reader to understand the magnitude of who I am sharing. The legendary Christian pastor and author A. W. Tozer shared some insights, reminding me why this book is so important.

Our view of God influences the way we look  at ourselves, others, and the world around us. That’swhy it’s incredibly importantto build our foundation of who God is based on the unchanging truth of His Word, not the temporary state of our feelings.” A.W. Tozer, The Knowledge of the Holy, 1961.

Wow! I remember reading this quote, and it was like an epiphany! It all began to make sense why God would not let me forget about this book or keep encouraging me to write it. That is a beautiful attribute of the Good Shepherd. Why I am Inspired to Write this God Book Now!

Fill My Cup, Lord

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I  will fear no evil, for thou art with me; Thy rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enimies;Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23.KJV.

Why I Am Inspired to Write this God Book Now!

Such a beautiful Psalm! I will discuss it more in my book about God and His role as the Good Shepherd. But for now, I leave you with this. Are you in need of a place to rest? Do you desire to just “be still?” I have experienced the “shadow of death.” Maybe you have, or maybe you haven’t yet. However, I encourage you to seek God with ALL your heart. Make yourself “AVAILABLE to Him. He desires to work in your life. God wants you to experience His attributes every day. You must be STILL and know  He is GOD. (Psalm 46:10)
