Today my heart is so full of thanks. I am humbled from all the blessings in my life. Yes there are trials, disappointments, and the temptation to worry at times but the Holy Spirit within me encourages so much each day. Here a just some of the things I am thankful for.
I am so thankful for my health and that God allowed my brain to remain strong enough after the stroke to be able read His word and pray daily, provide for myself, and start this blog.
I am thankful that He has revealed to me the importance of taking care of my body (His temple) and how the foods I eat can affect my health.
I am thankful for the expertise of the doctors, the care of all the nurses and health care providers, the prayers, support and, encouragement of so many wonderful friends.
Also I cannot be more thankful for the uplifting belief and unconditional love of my family. I am most thankful for the hands of a loving God who is in control of everything. He continues to bless me, provide for me, and heal my body and my spirit every day. I am not worthy of such love. Here is a poem that I wrote a few months after my stroke thanking Jesus for all He has done in my life.
“Thank you Jesus”
I wake in the morning and thank my God in a humble way that He has blessed me to see another beautiful day.
I pray and ask God to help keep my focus on Him and not get distracted by every little whim.
When things happen to me that just seem wrong, it is my faith in Christ that must stay strong.
Thank you Jesus for staying by my side…because this thing called life is one crazy ride!
I know there are others in pain like me. It may not be physical but emotionally.
Thank you for giving me the courage to share my story. I hope and pray that YOU receive all the glory!
My faith and my family will always be true and I want to say Jesus that I truly love YOU!

Horace, your words remind me of my quiet time this morning. We silence our enemy by keeping praise on our lips (Psalm 8:2).
