Has your heart ever been head over heels in blissful love? Do you remember falling in love with your soulmate? Or maybe you are single like me and hoping that God will bless you again with someone to love? Regardless, I’m not sure of the status of your heart when it comes to experiencing love. However, will you agree that nothing in the world compares to the feeling of being loved?
In my upcoming book, the Furnace of Affliction, I share the heart-wrenching pain I experienced in the depths of my heart when my engagement ended. At that stage in my life, I admit I had not fully grasped the immense measure of God’s love for me. Jesus cares so deeply for your heart as well. I’m going to state this now, and I pray you truly grab hold and hear me when I say, YOUR HEART MATTERS DESPERATELY TO GOD!
Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth, cares deeply for you, and He desires that your heart aligns with His. (Psalm 37:4)
Still don’t believe me? I hope you won’t argue with God. Check out this verse from His Word.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. – 2 Peter 3:9.
Now you may ask yourself, ” repentance, what’s that all about?” It is God’s desire that we all repent, or turn away from our sins, ask His forgiveness, and begin to live in concert-serving Him.
Your Heart Matters, Christian
Once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, our hearts become involved in an unrelenting spiritual battle. The enemy known as Satan is an evil and yet crafty adversary. His ultimate goal is to prevent us from committing our hearts to serving Christ. However, the devil is determined to disturb, disrupt, and eventually destroy our testimony for Godt. In doing so, this affects our impact as Christians-preventing us from influencing others for Jesus.
That is why it is critically important for us to guard our hearts and listen intently to the wisdom of God. Don’t only read the Bible, meditate on it. Commit passages of scripture to memory. You don’t have to memorize the entire bible, but identify scriptures that relate to areas of weakness. Memorize those verses so you’ll have them at the ready when your heart is under attack.
Examine me, O LORD, and try me; test my mind and my heart. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth. -Psalms 26:2-3.
Come to Him as You are
Even if you haven’t committed your heart to Jesus, He still desires your love. He is not waiting for you to ” get your life together” or to “turn things around”.Jesus will take your heart just the way you are. No questions asked. Click To Tweet Look at the Apostle Paul, he wrote almost half of the New Testament. God in His infinite wisdom, met Paul, who was then Saul on the road to Damascus to persecute more Christians. At that moment, God changed Saul’s heart and used him to evangelize Gentiles through numerous missionary journeys. In fact, His teachings are still affecting, changing, and inspiring hearts today.
So who cares if you haven’t been to church in forever or you feel your life is a mess. Step outside on a crisp and clear night. Gaze at the billions of stars in the sky; you have to admit there’s a God. God loves you unconditionally and sent His only Son to die on the cross for your sins. (John 3:16)
Please don’t continue to ignore a God who loves you so. A God who requires nothing but that you accept His love for you and ask Jesus to come into your heart right now. Stop ignoring the tugging at your heart. Listen closely to the whispers in your mind. Jesus is waiting for you to come to Him.
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved through Him. -John 3:17
And for my Christian brothers and sisters in Christ who are reading this, you can come to Him as you are too. yes once you’ve accepted Christ as your Savior, you are forever a member of His family. (John 10:28) However, remember that spiritual battle I mentioned?
Where is your heart right now? Is there something you’re holding back-unwilling to surrender? What about sin? Are there some hidden sins that you need to confess? After you finish reading this post, search your heart. Ask God to forgive you. Determine in your heart to willingly live in obedience to Him. Refuse to ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
If your desire is to experience true peace and joy in your Christian walk, doing so is not an option. Jesus wants us to live daily with a repentant heart. A heart that is fully committed to doing His will regardless of the cost. When He is convinced your heart is willing and ready to serve, He will empower you to accomplish things beyond your wildest imaginations-bringing Him all the glory!
If that is not your ultimate desire, then what are you doing, friend? God is wanting to use you. Are you ready?
