How You can Soar for the Rest of 2024!

2024. Happy New Year! Yes, I know that March is ending, but I want you to take a moment to remember the excitement and unbridled anticipation of embracing a new year. How You can Soar for the Rest of 2024!

Do you still have your list of goals for 2024? How are your resolutions progressing? And have you already accomplished those fantastic, exciting, and ambitious plans? What about your “word” for this year? Is it remaining present in your daily walk with and for God? I don’t want you to worry or feel anxious about these things because I am here to help.

Waiting is So Hard, Yes?

If you have listened to my latest podcast episode or followed me on Instagram, you know that my 2024 has not gone according to plan. Yet, I am not surprised by the challenges I’ve faced through the first three months of 2024.

I don’t want to come off as cocky or arrogant. However, my primary objective is to encourage you and maybe even remind you of some things you must do to soar in 2024.

But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31.

This is one of my favorite scripture verses. It inspired this post and is why I am confident that with God’s help, you can still soar in 2024! So, read this verse slowly, meditate on the words, and now I want to give you some information about eagles before we move forward. But before that, let me ask you this: How are you when it comes to waiting?

The Patience of an Eagle?

Did you know that eagles are some of the largest birds in North America, with wingspans that can stretch to almost seven and a half feet? To put it in perspective, the height of a typical room in my home is eight feet! Can you imagine how hard it must be for an eagle to get off the ground and flap those wings?

Thankfully, God doesn’t ask the eagles to flap away tirelessly to get from point A to point B like a character in a cartoon from the eighties. No, God created eagles to soar! Eagles commonly perch themselves high above everything, whether mountaintops or nesting treetops. An eagle’s nest is enormous! The largest on record was nearly ten feet in diameter and about twenty feet tall!

So, for an eagle to leave the comfort of its nest and venture out, it needs help. Eagles step out of their nest or off the side of a mountain, not to fall and hurt themselves, but to soar! They typically have to wait for an updraft or strong gust of wind. Then they step out in faith, open their wings, and let the gusting wind support them as they glide effortlessly through the air! Now, they can fly through the air with ease.

Young eagles are sometimes pushed out of the nest to train them to trust. The mother will then swoop down and allow the little one to catch the wind gust as they learn to fly. So, I ask you this: Have you patiently waited on the Lord for His guidance and direction this year? Or maybe you’ve been out there flapping and flailing your wings to exhaustion, trying to go about things in your strength? How You can Soar for the Rest of 2024!

Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall stregthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD! Psalm 27:14.

Why Wait in 2024?

Maybe you’re thinking, “Horace, this is fascinating, but what in the world does waiting have to do with my ability to soar in 2024?” As someone who constantly battles with patience, let me ask you this. Who is the One who gave you your desires, goals, and dreams for this year? Do you know Anyone who is sovereign and knows all things, who controls everything in the palm of His hand? Someone who happens to love you unconditionally and who wants what is BEST for you.

Do you have a “personal” relationship with Anyone like that? If the answer is “Yes!” then why wouldn’t you wait for His leading, guidance, and instruction?

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him. Isaiah 64:4.How You can Soar for the Rest of 2024!

I remember the first time I read this verse; my heart was filled with excitement! It was thrilling to have the opportunity to be “surprised” by the Lord. I knew I couldn’t fulfill His purpose for me on my own. I needed to be caught up in His glorious and powerful updraft, allowing me to soar to heights I could not even dream up!

So ask yourself, has 2024 thus far been about you or Him? Are you staying the course to glorify God in 2024? Click To Tweet

Walking or Running

So, my friend, whether you are walking around in circles, heading in the “wrong” direction, or running around like a chicken with its head cut off, wait on the Lord. “Whatever you are waiting on today, hold on to HOPE. Believe God is a promise keeper who does the impossible. Do what you can as you walk in faith. Surround yourself with godly people and remember God’s faithfulness in the past as you cling to hope together. But above all, expect what God promises will come to pass in His way and in His own time.” He is FAITHFUL.

Listen intently for His still, small voice, and prepare yourself to take that step of faith, trusting Him to sweep you up and help you soar! Are you ready?

Fly, eagles, fly!

  1. God is Faithful and True, Horace. May the Lord continue to encourage you, give you wisdom in your current situations, and give you grace as you wait for His breakthrough.

  2. Thanks for this encouragement, Horace. I love the reminder that eagles simply open their wings and soar, just as God wants us to open our clenched fists, surrender to him, and let him carry us! This blessed me deeply today!

    • Yes, indeed! God is FAITHFUL. We must learn to TRUST HIM. Open our wings to His divine updraft so we can soar like eagles and glorify Him. I’m glad you enjoyed this post. Be well, sister and God bless you.

  3. We all need these reminders to increase our patience, Horace. The first three months of the year haven’t gone as planned for me either. I should know by now that “unexpected” should BE the plan. lol. I know you’re remaining FAITHFUL though; that keeps you soaring.
