Amazing Summer Movie for the Family-guest post

I was contacted a few months ago by Melanie Redd to be a part of her Amazing Summer Movies for Families series.  I was so excited because movies are something I truly enjoy. The creative side of me appreciates all aspects that take place in telling a story via film. However, my analytical side sometimes brings out the critiquing side of me. This sometimes prevents me from enjoying the movie because I am constantly asking questions.

Last month I was so proud to celebrate my niece’s high school graduation. It was a surreal moment in time for myself. The same baby girl that I held in my arms 18 year ago was now graduating.

After  a cookout Saturday, the inspiring proceedings, and church on Sunday , I was invited to go see a movie with her family. They were going to see Wonder Woman, and since I am a HUGE comic book fan, I was excited to go! When I was about 2 years old, my mother sewed for me my very own batman costume, complete with cape and cowl. She has a picture of me preparing to jump off the couch wearing it.

Since then I’ve watched the Batman TV show, the Superfriends and Justice League cartoons. and all the different batman movies throughout the years. (The Dark Knight trilogy is the best and my favorite of them all, but back to Wonder Woman) You can read the entire review over at Melanie’s website. • Haha. Welcome Julie. Yes,unfortunately my cousin has my copy of that image. I was just asking my mother to help me get it back. She said she will help. Always great to hear from you. Have a fantastic week and may God continue to bless you and your family.

  2. I have seen many of the Marvel and similar movies with my grandkids and I enjoy them, but I haven’t seen Wonder Woman yet. I’ll have to check out your review. Hope you’re having a great summer. Blessings, Horace!
