Hello! Thank you for stopping by pleasingtothepotter! Let me tell you about me. My name is Horace Williams Jr. I am a single, Christian man who loves the Lord Jesus with all his heart. I am also the oldest of five siblings,I have two amazing brothers and two Godly, beautiful sisters.
In 2010 I suffered a life changing stroke that could have taken my life. My entire left side was paralyzed. due to a blood vessel rupturing in my brain! However, God has given me a second chance and It’s my desire to glorify Him every day. As my love for Christ grows deeper, I want to share my faith with others. I pray you find help, inspiration and are encouraged.
God never gave up on me.
I became a born again Christian at the age of 11. I grew up in a Christian home with God serving parents. However, I was not seeking after God. Instead of living for Christ, I was living for myself… doing what I wanted.
I am so thankful that God never gave up on me! I now understand it was because He wanted a relationship with me. In my mind being a Christian meant I always had a “get out of hell free” card.
In spite of several trials and tests earlier in my life, I sought God when I desperately needed Him. I now understand that He wants to be a part of every aspect of my life. I used to think if I could make enough money, everything would be okay.
At the time of my stroke, I had a nice home, car, and well paying job. I thought I had made it! Then the stroke occurred while at the office; leaving my entire left side paralyzed. I could not walk or even sit up in the hospital bed for weeks. Lot of good those monies were doing me now! I was helpless, humbled, and broken.
Nightmares to Non-stop Praying
Every night I had trouble sleeping in the hospital. I would have crazy nightmares due to the brain injury, waking up scared and in cold sweats. I would pray for daylight to come and hear the nurses voices. I would try to remember Psalm 23 from my childhood and quote in my head …”The Lord is my Shepherd” until I would fall asleep.
It was then I began to realize that my life was not only about me but God and what He wanted for me.. He is the one that gave me the talents and aptitude to be successful. Everything I have is because he blesses me with it.
He chose me to be a child of His many years ago to glorify Him, encourage other believers, and help others come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
I love writing and enjoy helping others so that is the main reason for this blog. I want to encourage, enlighten, and even educate you by sharing what I have learned through all the pain and my daily struggles to live a fruitful Christian life. I will share with you; life lessons, bible study notes and verses that encourage me each day and night throughout my recovery.
Every day, I am recovering both physically and spiritually and with God’s help I am excited to see His will and plan for for my life fulfilled. I hope you will join me on my new journey and we can encourage one another!
