Hello! Welcome to my website and my “About Me” page! I am thrilled that you have joined me here today. I hope that you will become a regular visitor here. Now, let me tell you about myself. My name is Horace Williams Jr. I am a single Christian man who loves the Lord Jesus with all his heart. I am also the oldest of five siblings; I have two amazing brothers and two Godly, beautiful sisters.
In 2010 I suffered a life-changing stroke that could have taken my life. My entire left side was paralyzed due to a blood vessel rupturing in my brain! However, God has given me a second chance, and I desire to glorify Him with my life. My love for Christ deeper every day, and I want to share my faith with others. I pray you find help, Biblical inspiration and are encouraged during your visits here.
God never gave up on me.
I became a born-again Christian at the age of 11. I grew up in a Christian home with God serving parents. However, I was not seeking God. Instead of living for Christ, I was living for myself… doing what I wanted. I am so thankful that God never gave up on me! I now understand it was because He wanted a relationship with me. In my mind being a Christian meant I always had a “get out of hell free” card. As a result, I only sought God when I desperately needed Him despite several trials and tests earlier in my life. However, I now understand that He wants to be a part of every aspect of my life. I used to think if I could make enough money, everything would be okay.
At the time of my stroke, I had a beautiful home, car, and well-paying job. I thought I had made it! Then the stroke occurred while at the office, leaving my entire left side paralyzed. I could not walk or even sit up in the hospital bed for weeks. A lot of good those monies were doing me now! I was helpless, humbled, and broken.
Nightmares to Non-stop Praying
Every night I had trouble sleeping in the hospital. Several nights crazy dreams haunted me due to the brain injury; I’d wake up scared and in cold sweats, not even sure where I was at times. I would pray for daylight to come just to hear the nurse's voices. I struggled to remember Psalm 23 from my childhood and quote in my head …”The Lord is my Shepherd” until I would drift off to sleep. During my time in the hospital and rehab facility, I began to realize my life was about God and how He wants to use me. He is the one that gave me the talents and aptitude to be successful. Everything I have is because He blesses me with it. He chose me to be a child of His many years ago to glorify Him, encourage other believers, and help others come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Why I am Here
I love writing and enjoy helping others, so that is the main reason for this website. My hope here is to encourage, enlighten, and even educate us about the power of prayer, faith in Jesus, and God’s undeserved grace. I will be open in sharing what I have learned through all the pain and daily struggles to live a fruitful Christian life. I will also share with you; bible study notes and scriptures that encourage me each day and night throughout my recovery. You may even see a few blog posts and the latest book updates here as well.
Every day, I am recovering both physically and spiritually, and with God’s help, I am excited to see His will and plan for my life fulfilled. I hope you will join me on my new journey and we can encourage one another!

Wait…Cheesecake Business. How did I miss this the first time. Would you work on a gluten free recipe for me someday when you are well enough??? I will be patiently waiting……
Haha.. I do not think I mentioned before but I have a passion for cooking since I was younger. Yes, I will do some research and get with my baby sister for ideas. She prepares a lot of gluten free for her family due to allergies, etc. I try to avoid wheat when possible since it adversely affects me at times. Great to hear from You Sarah. Blessings

Hi Horace, I just found your blog through blessed transgressions. I read your article and it was beautiful. It definitely caught my eye for the fact that my husband suffered a stroke in 2014. It is so wonderful how God has blessed you and you are an inspiration to others. It looks like you are recovering well and doing good. My faith has grown so much since my husband’s stroke. He is an awesome God! My husband is recovering also, it’s a slow process. I would love to hear more about your recovery. Hopefully we can chat sometime. My husband needs some encouragement from a fellow survivor too. You are in my prayers. God Bless you.
Thank you for visiting pleasingtothepotter.com Jennifer. I am thrilled to read you enjoyed the article. I am sorry to hear about your husband’s stroke but pleased to read God is working in your life. God uses trials to strengthen our faith as we realize our dependence on Him. I hope some day to speak with you both. Thank you for your prayers, they are very much appreciated. I will pray for you and your husband too. Continue to seek God and He will give you rest during this trying time. May God continue to richly bless you and yours.
Dear Horace, I am so pleased that your book came out early for others to read. I will be writing a review, hopefully tomorrow, but surely by early in the week. You have truly allowed God to use you in a beautiful way…to express the importance of prayer along with the ways of prayer. I love the layout oof the book too. May each one who has a copy in their hands over the years be touched by the Hand of God. When it came out early, I jumped on for my copy aside from the one you sent. This kindle one reads fine on my Nook! May God’s Presence light the way. Caring through Christ, – linda
Thank you Linda. There is a song in my heart to read your words today. I am thankful that God has allowed me to use my love of writing for his glory. Words cannot express the joy I feel to encourage my siblings in Christ. I thank God for his love and for his wisdom on this writing journey. I pray all who read this book, Unleash the Power of Prayer in Your Life will be blessed, encouraged, and inspired to pray with purpose. Blessings to you and yours my friend.

God’s grace has been more thankful sufficient in my life. Thanks again for visiting and may God bless you in all your future endeavors.
Horace…! This is Jann Tassell(-Thomas)!! Your mother told my mother when you had the stroke…I prayed many hours and weeks for you. It blesses my heart to find you are writing about your friendship with God. I know He is using you in many lives.
Thank you for your prayers, Jann. I know by the grace of God that there were so many brothers and sisters in Christ praying for me during that traumatic and difficult time. He was preparing me for service. I pray that hearts are changed, and my ministry glorifies Him.
Thanks for the kind words and your prayers, Jann. I am thankful for everything God continues to do in my life, and I am blessed for the opportunity to share my testimony of faith.
I would like to quote you in my book
Author Horace Williams, Jr. eloquently described God’s view of Job like this:
“Unbeknownst to Job, God’s faith in him was so staunch that He gave Satan permission to do anything to Job except kill him.”
I do not know how to reach your publisher for permission. Please advice- the above quote is so beautifully stated- – without written permission from your publisher I’ll have to remove it but, I think it belongs if permitted.
All help appreciated
Dr. Sandra Marston
As a self-published author, you have my permission to use my quote. Please reference the book when using it. Thank you.
