Embrace A Different Kind of Love this Valentine’s Day

Love. Amore. Passion. Endearment. Affection. Appreciation. Fondness. Yearning. These are a few words that describe the word love. However, there is a different kind of love, a love that is so unique and different—a love that is rarely experienced in this world and, if so, only for a limited time.

Embrace a Different Kind of Love this Valentine's Day

Unconditional Love. That is the different kind of love that I’m encouraging you to embrace today. This is the kind of love that God offers to us continually. However, it is easy to forget to embrace His love. The busyness of life, the anxieties, frustrations, and disappointments can often hinder embracing His Unconditional Love.

Benefits of God’s Love

There are too many incredible benefits of God’s love to mention. With that in mind, I will focus on a few here today. Hopefully, this will bring to mind how amazing the love of God is, and you will share any experiences of His love toward you in the comments.

Forgiveness. This may be one of the most important benefits that we can experience. God’s forgiveness began with Adam and Eve. Even though they had everything you could imagine and lived in a perfect setting, they chose to disobey God. But God. All those years ago, God forgave them despite the betrayal in their humanness. He promised to send His Son as redemption for All who would turn away from their sin, seek His forgiveness, and accept His Son’s priceless gift.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16.

Grace. Many of us are familiar with the word grace. “Let’s say grace.” “God’s grace.” But what does the grace of God mean? Grace is the unmerited or undeserved favor of God. He gives us what we do not deserve. His patience, His lovingkindness, and His mercy. Often, because of God’s mercy, He chooses not to give us what we do deserve. We should never take the grace of God for granted.

With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them that there were no needy persons among them. Act 4:33-34.

How can we Embrace God’s Love?

Most of you reading this post have been involved in a relationship. Parent and child. Sibling to sibling. Boyfriend and girlfriend. The God-ordained relationship between a husband and wife. Relationships are complicated at times and often challenging. However, it takes effort on both sides for any relationship to thrive.

God has already done His part and proven His love for you; look to the cross and remember. What you choose to do next is essential. Are you willing to embrace His love? Click To Tweet

Trust and Obey. As I mentioned in my last post, my word from God for 2023 is “trust.” It is a word that I am both excited and curious about. What exactly is the Lord asking Him to trust Him? The one thing I know, and you can learn too, is that God wants what is BEST for His children. So, I’m choosing to trust Him.

Trust. Confidence. Faith. Hope. Remember these words when it comes to trusting in God. Your faith grows stronger, your confidence is bolstered, and your hope continually renews when you trust God. Click To Tweet

In God I have put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can mere man do to me? Psalm 56:11.Embrace a Different Kind of Love this Valentine's Day

Now that I have discussed the importance of trusting God let’s talk about obedience. Obeying God is not always easy, especially when we try to do it with our own strength. That is where “surrender” comes in. When we surrender our hearts to the will and the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we can live obediently before God. This is the ultimate way to honor him and embrace His love. Has the LORD as much delight in a burnt offering?

Samuel said, “Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22.

These are the words the prophet Samuel spoke just before telling King Saul that the Lord was removing His kingdom from Him and giving it to David, who was a man after God’s heart.

What about you? What can you do, or what changes do you need to make to embrace God’s unconditional love fully? How about this, have you thanked Him for His love?

Live with Gratitude

When you live with an attitude of gratitude, you express your love for God. And if you want to go even deeper. Embrace your love for Him by LOVING OTHERS.

A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. John 13:34.Embrace a Different Kind of Love this Valentine's Day

The love that Christ talked about can only be given to us by God. It is one of the fruits of the Spirit. When you come to Jesus Christ, He transforms you. Your past is forgiven, You receive a power to love men, beyond your natural ability to love.

-Billy Graham.Embrace a Different Kind of Love this Valentines Day

Pray this prayer as you seek to embrace the love of God.

Instill in me, dear heavenly Father, Your same Spirit of love, which enables Your followers to live with genuine compassion and unconditional love. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Live with Love

Now that you know how much you are loved, embrace God’s magnificent, unconditional love. Let those around you see His love within you. Be a witness to what God’s love can do in both good times and bad. This choice is up to you. Choose wisely, friend. God loves you.

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of Your Father who is in heaven… Matthew 5 :43.
